[T]here is only one day on my 2016 calendar which I have circled in red – July 22nd – and that’s not because it’s my birthday. It’s something much bigger than that – July 22nd is the scheduled release date for ‘Star Trek Beyond’, which is the sequel to ‘Star Trek into Darkness’, AND…the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek series. Could a movie be any bigger than THAT??

For those of you new to my blog, I have been Trekkie my entire life. And of course it has weaved its way into my custody posts as far back as seven years ago. Take a moment and watch the preview below, don’t worry I’ll wait.

It’s Time to Buy Your Star Trek Tickets Now, Oh Wait Not On Sale Yet?

With the release date only a few months away, it’s not too soon to be securing your tickets now, so you won’t have to suffer the potential trauma of missing that opening night show. If there were anyone I could bribe at my local theater, or anyone online for that matter, to sell me a ticket this minute, I would bury them with cash in a heartbeat.

So I was trying to find out all I could about this most excellent, fabulous new installment, and here’s how I went about it. I got myself fully dressed in my Captain Kirk uniform, right down to the standard Federation boots and communicator, and sat down in the chair facing my Star Trek Shrine so I could totally commune with the universal Star Trek powers.

[tweet “Is the #StarTrek Enterprise getting destroyed in the new movie?”]

It turns out the cast of ‘Star Trek into Darkness’ will all return, with a brand new villain to make life miserable for my heroes. I sensed that the sacred Enterprise gets destroyed in this movie, and her crew stranded on a hostile planet, which is going to cause me no end of worry until July 22nd. If you don’t have a Star Trek Shrine like this, check out Joe Donovan’s article 5 Star Trek Inspired Home Theaters that Even Picard Would Be Jealous Of.

Here’s one last joyous tidbit I learned. Both Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) have signed on for one more glorious film after this one!
